The case and outcome was tragic squared. The judge did not understand the concept of ‘as is purchase’, as that relates to the requirements and duties imposed on the appraiser and the lender via the HUD selling guide. He obviously was not up to speed on the nuances of of mortgage insurability and minimum property standards requirements. Looks like the ladies home should never have been insured and the loan issued in the first place.
