The recent bankruptcy declarations by Tupperware and Avon Products (API) demonstrate the weakness of a direct-seller model. Tupperware, the plastic containers maker, filed for bankruptcy in September. That came just one month after API, the US-based nonoperational holding company of Avon beauty brands, filed to restructure its debt due to previous and ongoing litigation regarding talc contamination in its products.

In reply to Scott. Good for you. I have had assignments canceled after 1 day of inspection by an amc yet I was paid in full immediately for the assignments. Or else I would put a Mechanics Lien on the property with the county and stop the loan until I was paid in full plus costs of adding and removal costs of the lien. As an independent contractor appraiser, you have every right to add a Mechanic Lien when people play games with an appraiser and their time.

Hopefully this will help readers to understand which state and the process of defending your work if needed. In reply to Realist. Part of the problem is people want condos to be something they are not. 1. Condominium is a subdivision of airspace. It may or may not ALSO include a site comprised of land. They may look like an SFR but they are not. 2. The term ‘site condo’ should never have been coined. It has no universally accepted definition. It is an artificial construct legally.
