Being from NY I never saw things as has clear as now. Our profession has been ruined. I grew up on Long Island which was segregated based on color from the 50’s or earlier. Segregation was prominent in the 60’s and 70’s. So were the school districts. Those areas which were not 100% white struggled. It was a big difference from buying a home in Freeport versus Merrick.

As an appraiser, I was surprised at some of the questions, suggestions and comments regarding the expense of PAREA and the failure of anyone to connect the cause as the predatory actions of the AMC community. What did not make it into the testimony is the fact that most small to medium size firms absorbed these costs until HVCc and Dodd Frank.
